The Y2K problem¹ was a perfect example that if we dedicate the necessary resources to fix a problem we caused earlier things can just be fine.²
But in the end it was so disappointingly anti-climatic that we decided to take a different path regarding CO₂ and climatic disaster.

TrueNAS scale upgrade was mostly seamless.
I had one problem with a FreeBSD vm which itself ran a bunch of bastille vnet jails. None of the jails were able to reach the external (flat) network.
My hacky workaround was to add a heap of additional nics to the VM, and dedicate one of those to each jail, rather than using bastille's default bridge-config.
