If anyone is curious, I spliced together some of the ads to show how Tougher Than Tom is using AI to falsely imply efficacy. E.g., showing large numbers of mosquitoes in the trap. The mosquitoes often appear to "fly" around in the liquid. It's poorly done but I bet they are fooling the type of person who doesn't know mosquitoes don't fly underwater. dropbox.com/scl/fi/0ipb5v3rwsb

@… For 2 years, *2 years*, I got emails from Dropbox saying “You’re over the limit, delete your data now or we will!”
(Only reason I had any data at all was a friend using it to share photos with me they’d taken, photos that ostensibly they were paying for the storage of… yet I’m expected to pay as well? No.)

Dropbox User Accounts Breached by Hackers Who Accessed Data

RE: infosec.exchange/@metacurity/1
What a security nightmare Dropbox is.
"The compromised accounts weren’t protected by multifactor authentication, Rathschmidt said. The hackers accessed the accounts by using a Lenovo ID, a user name and password that allows users to access products and services made by Lenovo Group Ltd., according to the emails. Dropbox users can access their accounts using verified Lenovo IDs, according to one of the emails.
Because of an “issue” with Lenovo’s email verification process, the hackers were able to register Lenovo IDs using the emails of Dropbox users, even if they hadn’t set up such an account, the notification emails say. The hackers then used the Lenovo IDs’ to access the accounts."

Anyone have Dropbox replacement you really like?
- I specifically don’t want to self-host
- It needs to have seamless macOS integration
- It needs to work for small teams
- I need automated full backup to our Synology NAS
Please only recommend anything you personally use and like.
