I think I finally figured out why the hard push for AI everywhere. AI is the sports car of a developer's midlife/mid-career crisis.
The average age across most tech ecosystems is about 40 and we're all maybe not as sharp as we remember.
Time to get something that makes us feel young again. Like we haven't missed a step. But like everyone trying a little too hard, we look a bit ridiculous.

Finished the SFP28 carrier board. Still waiting on final design review before I send it out to OSHPark, but it's done-enough that I could export a STEP and pull into the enclosure model.
Placement of all the front panel stuff is pretty definite at this point, the power supply and PDU are likely to move.
Logic board hasn't even started schematic capture yet.
There will probably be at least a couple of fans but I haven't figured out where or how many yet.

Stalled on getting MSFS 2024 to run, but did clean off the desk a bit. Not the best case scenario, but figured a nice lazy Saturday just relaxing would work out well.

Staying an hour extra at work doesn't seem to help. What did help was to get on the bike to head home. I hadn't even ridden half a mile when I figured out what I had done wrong and had been beating my head against all afternoon.

I've seen a bus with "Faszination" printed on it. I've figured out it probably means "fascination" in German but my first thought was entirely different.

I have just figured out the weird opaque process to add alt text to images in Teams and, as a result, discovered it only allows 240 characters.
