* Disastrous in terms of rare wildlife habitat and indeed the flora and fauna itself, relative to the past few thousand years, but of course in a few short years the criteria for disaster will be ratcheted up a few notches. No-one was even hurt, for instance, as far as I know, let alone killed. Living in another Forestry England area makes me a bit pessimistic about the future.

This morning, I tried putting WB0RLJ's latest POTA activation on as background while reading my normal morning catch-up. It's interesting hearing to a really good operator while not actually focusing on the task of listening.
He can pull a call sign out of a pileup that is just noise to me, but sometimes I copy the same call sign that he does when he has quite a few callers. So that's progress for me.…
