FYI you can use a steam iron or hand steamer to "re-inflate" collapsed PU foam, memory foam, etc. It's fuckin' witchcraft. Just did it on a mattress topper and may have saved myself €100 by dodging a replacement. Looky: youtu.be/5rndD6tzZPo

Back in the day - gee now I sound like an old geezer - we would put high-foam detergent into fountains (like the Mulholland fountain near Griffith Park in LA or the descending fountain at UCLA), or we would add sugar or fertilizers to still pools (in order to create a rapid growth of pond scum).

So, decided to wash my favourite pillow. Sigh.

Looking into a front loading washing machine filled with quite well wrung out foam bits and the pillow case which previously contained them. Oh noes!
Bucket in front of the washer into which I'm emptying the foam scraps. Becoming more optimistic this might end well for my favourite pillow...

We were in Poundstretcher earlier and I don't know why but for some reason this caught my eye.
It's a colourful foam cut-out board for children, to help them learn numbers and tell left from right.

A Bay Area startup that manufactures drones to tackle wildfires has just signed its first customer, the Aspen Fire Protection District.
The company, Seneca, recently announced that its fleet of five drones (dubbed a “strike team”) would be coming to the famed Colorado ski town this summer,
making Aspen the first wildfire agency in America to add these types of aircraft to its arsenal.

Firefighting drones head to Aspen—can they suppress a blaze before humans arrive?
Seneca's drones carry foam, fly at night, and don't need an on-site pilot.

Last week I made GF cardamom buns as part of my Easter dinner. But I had a first pass where I put the psyllium husk into the dry ingredients instead of the proofed yeast & milk (where it would gel). I held onto that batch of dry ingredients and salvaged it yesterday.
The buns came out well, but spread quite a lot. They still had a good texture and density, so I don’t know how much my psyllium oops was a factor.
Still learning GF yeasted baking.

Eight flattened four inch balls of dough, freshly egg washed, on a half sheet lined with parchment.
The same eight flattened balls, but now baked into flattened rolls, some having spread and made contact with one another, with a nice golden brown on their tops.

Brought home some #espresso beans. Pulled a shot on a Bambino Plus with default settings, then made a cappuccino on the same machine. Tomorrow I'll try with the Flair 58.

The van's metalwork is exposed in the back and it is far from actually cosy in there so the job today has been to cover the entire insides in a foam insulation.
Seems to have gone okay. I certainly have lots of spare left over, only used about half.
Even had time to start on the covering of the wood and insulation with the vinyl blue wood-effect wallpaper.
Hopefully more of that wallpapering can be done tomorrow though I fear I will run out because I seem to have ordered three mini-rolls of extra rather than three large rolls like I wanted. 🤞 Probably end up having to leave some till next weekend when I run out.
The Carpet has arrived the wrong color too. Boo. Wonder if I'll just accept the black or try and handle the returns process to get the red I wanted.
