The wife and I decided to shopping for a new mattress today and we ended buying this Nectar mattress(king size) to replace our 8 year old mattress.
This is a memory foam mattress, which we've never owned before, so definitely going to be interesting to see how it is once it arrives, which is due to happen April 9th - 12th.

Trying another GF cake; this one a simple almond cake. Weighing the flours is easy. Clarifying the butter is not.
I got distracted, so instead of clarified butter it was browned butter minus the foam.
Includes maraschino liqueur, orange zest, and a crusty turbinado sugar top that makes all the slices look sloppy. But whatever, it tastes great.

Prepared 8 inch round spring form pan with the bottom full of sugar and sliced almonds, wrapped in wet cake pan strips. Around it is a bowl of mixed flour, custard cups of butter and orange zest, and a stand mixer ready to go.
The cake released from the pan and flipped onto a 10 inch white plate. The top is a rich brown color from caramelized sugar while also also full of sliced almonds.
An eighth of the cake on a dessert plate, topped with powdered sugar. The moist yellow cross section has a thin layer of sugar on top, broken into shards from slicing. On the tray with the cake is a glass mug of cappuccino, the top third of which is white foam. This is all bathed in sunlight.

#ShiftHappens happend! @…'s impressive book about #keyboards and #typewriters

An open card box with a safely packaged book slipcase in it. The foam looks a bit like Minecraft blocks with jigsaw puzzle cams.
A book slipcase with a black and white photography of some blank key caps.
Front view of the Shift Happens slipcase withe two thick and one thinner orange book inside. The two thicker books have beige key caps with legends 1 and 2 as label for volume 1 and 2. There's also a thin, stapled leaflet on the very right end of the slipcase visible.
Black and white cover of Shift Happens volume 1, showing a woman sitting in front of a typing device from probably the 50s.

Starting June 1, 2024, Washington will ban the sale and distribution of foam coolers, takeout containers, cups, plates and other food and drink items made from expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) due to environmental and recycling concerns.
It's the right choice, but will chicken teriyaki hit the same out of compressed paper takeout containers?

It's now been about 2 weeks or so since the wife and I got our first memory foam mattress, which we decided on a Nectar brand.
During these two weeks or so, I've been sleeping considerably better. I sleep a bit later than I was there for a while as I now wake up around 6am instead of between 4am - 5am.
I also don't wake up with a sore back, headaches or feeling like I want to immediately go lay down on the couch and take a nap. (cont...)
