Gravitational Scattering of Two Neutron Stars
We present the first numerical relativity simulations of the gravitational scattering of two neutron stars. Constraint-satisfying initial data for two equal-mass non-spinning sequences are constructed at fixed energy and various initial angular momenta (impact parameter) and evolved with Einstein equations through the scattering process. The Fantappiè and Laplace transforms realize isomorphisms between analytic functionals supported on a convex compact set $K\subset{\mathbb C}^n$ and certain spaces of holomorphic functions associated with $K$. Unit-norm tight frames in finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces (FUNTFs) are fundamental in signal processing, offering optimal robustness to noise and measurement loss.
