Last night was a very good night to be among fellow Democrats from across the county. Here is what we did:
Eileen Higgins blew out the Miami Mayor’s race, winning by 19 points, 59.5%-40.5%.
In the last two years we’ve flipped Florida’s two largest cities, Jacksonville and Miami, and Mayor-Elect Higgins will be the first Dem in this office in almost 30 years
In a Georgia state house special election our candidate Eric Gisler flipped a Trump 12 district, 51%-49%

Today I installed a water heater in a neighbor's RV because the built in hybrid one blew out one of the water connections. He happened to have a 20 gallon electric one sitting behind his place for a few years now. Took a couple hours of work, I'd say. He gave me $400.

RESULT:
Democrat #Chasity #Martinez wins a special election for a legislative seat in Louisiana,
62% to 38%.
This was a district that Trump carried by 13% last year,
so a big overperformance by Dems,
but the seat was already Dem-held.

GOP failed to flip ANY Dem district in 2025 (Dems flipped a lot), & none in 2026 so far. This was as clear an opening as you can imagine. Big blow to Rs.
