I've eaten at a lot of fish and chips places in England and Wales, and around the US. In the UK I like plaice, a kind of fish we don't get here on the west coast of the US.
For some reason, I believe that fish and chips are best consumed outside when the weather is nice, even a bit warm.
My favorite two fish and chips places are:
Scrumptious Fish and Chips - A food truck here in the Santa Cruz area. Their rockfish is especially good.
