I remember the claims from 30 or so years ago that only conventional high input agriculture could feed the world - support by data on yields of organic farming vs high input farming. And I remember the counter argument - that growing organic products on land that had been degraded, was bound to produce lower yields. (Organic certification required a several year transition phase.) And now I see:
