This year, all hallows and Halloween happens on the same night. One is a spooky feast for children and the other is a solemn time when we're remembering those who have gone before us.
We can do both. Because that's life.
The graveyards are incredibly beautiful and quiet, and the candles are burning in the darkness. Now it's time to get the child from her party.
Because we can, and must, hold both joy and sadness with the same hand, in one heart.

Yes, important to note that the plot is entirely from a Confederate POV. It’s a throwaway plot — not as problematically soaked in Confederate Lost Cause nostalgia as, say, Gone With the Wind, merely an absurdity situated in Civil War Georgia — but it’s definitely one of those films you see for the filmmaking and not for the story. And it’s definitely one to skip if you’re not willing to compartmentalize that (which to be clear is a perfectly reasonable refusal to make).

My only unpleasant encounter in France was with a taxi-driving vatnick who said that in his past life he visited Vilnius in the 1990s, how dangerous it was, and how beautiful modern-day Moscow is. I corrected him, pointing out that in the 1990s, Vilnius was under the siege of the Russian mafia, and with them gone, it is safer than Bordeaux. I agreed Moscow is indeed more beautiful when Ukrainian drones set fire to it.

Also shows the risk of #selfhosting - all my services are gone for the moment. Good: I have backups of the proxmox VMs. Bad: The proxmox cluster doesn’t have a quorum anymore, so I can’t start them on the remaining machine 🙃. May have to drop an old Pi into the cluster to get back to quorum so I can do stuff again until I the machine gets repaired or replaced.

Rarely active really.
The other desktops are for sundry tasks as and when they might arise.
The OS is on the root of the hard-drive and /home/pre is mounted from a set of zfs drives that frankly need rethinking and reorganizing.

Vimwiki is my opinionated choice for personal journal and reference notes. It is amazing and I should have gone with markdown from the start but it's still all in vimwiki syntax.

It is several levels deep with symlinks into the project directories.
Then of course there's the server-config which there's flavours of, and the way those servers are backed up, and the themes for the things.
Nextcloud, ttrss, goto-social, mastodon, peertube. I got servers running 'em all.
Can I get me some of those fascist dollars if I publish my config for mixing gotosocial with a static website to combine a social and web identity into one?
It's basically just an nginx config and a hugo run and some scripts.
If I install all that and snapshot it can I have the millions of fascists money please?
