If you ever find yourself in Sofia, Bulgaria, during a hot summer, ask your guide to take you to one of the residential district streets where trees on both sides grow as high as a 5-story building and the thick leaf canopy transform the street into a 100-200 m long green tunnel of blissful shade and sounds of birds chirping. There's plenty of coffeehouses, wine bars, eateries and restaurants to make it worth your while.

Those quaint little bird-house structures, placed along sidewalks, usually with a glassed-in front to keep the contents safe from the elements. Inside these little boxes there is always the oddest selection of books, and almost always something that will pique your interest. "
