Belgian startup nox.energy, one 🚀 to watch in the smart energy space, has launched its new tool to optimize heat pumps: smart control based on weather forecast, to increase solar self-consumption, for (static/dynamic) tariff optimization and additional flexibility trading as independent aggregator

Domestic Heat Pumps: Barriers to Installation (2022) - A case study in the friction in specifying and installing a heat-pump in the UK, even for a savvy early adopter. #heatpump #netZero #futureReady
I totally should have got a heat pump when we replaced our furnace a few years ago but a) the folks we bought from (who sell heat pumps) said not to, b) my electrician said not to, and c) the rebate/inspection process was extremely confusing to navigate.

£13.2bn fund to fix draughty homes and install heat pumps and solar panels.
Nothing else that I can see on reduction of energy demand.
And here is the money being wasted:
'£30bn in investment in nuclear power, about half on the Sizewell C reactor'
Small tidal schemes in the Mersey, Severn and other estuaries would give a better, and safer, approach to "always on" energy supply.
