Designers trying to fight PMs for "ownership" of decision-making find that they do less and less actual design.
Meanwhile, this model of vertical, touchpoint-based ownership is ALSO a poor fit for making a good user experience, because the experience cuts across multiple areas of ownership. Fighting over the obvious decisions leaves gaps and seams that make the experience a poor one.
Instead, designers should embrace another form of influence that fits our work better.
One manifestation of AI-enabled government, is that the government will start publishing documents that are intended as much for RAG processes as they are humans.
This has that feel:

Alec Pierce rumor is good for Colts, bad for Giants, Steelers, Raiders and Broncos https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/indianapolis-colts/news/alec-pierce-rumor-good-colts-bad-giants-steelers-raid…
…crucially, I’d argue that (2) is •not• the only cause of (1): narrowing the problem space was not the only thing Hypercard did that lowered the barrier to entry. There have been other tools that also aggressively narrowed the problem space yet did not catch on the way Hypercard did.
Narrowing the class of problems is •part• of Hypercard’s barrier-removing success, to be sure! For example, I mentioned UI layout upthread. Hypercard stacks aren’t resizable. Layout involved absolute positioning, end of story (mostly).
How pro-Trump influencers and others on social media used misdirection and fabricated content to muddle the evidence of ICE agents killing a man in Minneapolis (New York Times)

My SLP spouse has a T-shirt that says “langauge,” and it gets a lot of appreciation.
Every profession that involved any sort of typing has these words, I suspect.

Raiders Issued Strong Draft Message Involving Elijah Sarratt https://heavy.com/sports/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/strong-draft-message-indiana-elijah-sarratt/
There’s another shooting in Minneapolis this morning involving ICE.
I have no further info except location, which is not helpful to post publicly at this time. Let the trained observers get there first.
Dammit.
My inability to get a handle on the size of the crowd from inside the crowd is a metaphor for today writ large. In addition to the big downtown protest, there were multiple protests at the airport, clergy arrested for blocking the airport access road, at least two impromptu neighborhood protests I’m aware of near my house. There were food drives. There were street parties. Many businesses that were “closed” kept their doors open and offered free coffee, pancakes, warming spaces. Nobody really knows everything that happened.
