"Conspiracy thinking is also a trap because it contains feedback loops of positive reinforcement. If you reject authoritative sources of information as part of a conspiracy, then you will likely reject any information that can disprove the conspiracy. Any information that contradicts the conspiracy, or lack of information that would prove the conspiracy, are part of the conspiracy."

This week, we were discussing the central question Can we "predict" a word? as the basis for statistical language models in our #ISE2025 lecture. Of course, I wasx trying Shakespeare quotes to motivate the (international) students to complement the quotes with "predicted" missing words ;-)
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely...."

This is a combination of automated train operation (with doors closing sooner), raising the speed limit back to the original design of 75 mph, and I imagine other fixes.

"When the Trump regime took over in January and Elon Musk's data-raiders started hacking federal agencies of various kinds, a group chat in which I participate started speculating about what kinds of terrible things this crowd might do. One member of the group wondered if the hacking might include the Social Security Administration's "death master file" – a list of people, presumably deceased, who would not receive any federal benefits and whose names and other identifying information would be flagged so that financial institutions would refuse to serve them.
What if, the conversation continued, the infamously cruel and paranoid regime decided to add living persons to the death master list? Doing so would destroy people's actual lives – which might make it just what a vicious government would do."

blumenau_drug: Blumenau drug interactions (2019)
A network of drug-drug interactions, extracted from 18 months of electronic health records (EHRs) from the city of Blumenau in Southern Brazil. Nodes are annotated with drug information (separate file), and edges are weighted by the severity of the interaction, along with other information.
This network has 75 nodes and 181 edges.
