Weeks ago, I spent a morning installing a new fan to lower the temperature of the SSD where I store the volumes and configs of my Docker server. The result? Just a couple of degrees lower, from 50 to 48 °C.
It was already within the normal range before, but I like to take good care of my stuff...
In any case, a smartctl -A tells me that everything is perfect and has been perfect since it was installed almost two years ago. So, I can sleep peacefully.
BTW, Grafana is cool AF…

So pamac has this weird case sensitivity bug when searching for apps and landing the app details UI whether for installing or uninstalling apps irrespective of repos or Flatpaks.
I fixed once and sent a patch to Manjaro devs. It took them a few years(yeah, years) to commit them. This was before AI.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're in the US and heat your home with heating oil - your state, county, or electric company may have rebates available to make installing mini split heat pumps a lot cheaper. In addition, some states have insurance for oil tank leakage (eg, WA state had PLIA). When we removed our oil tank in Seattle, the $50k soil remediation was free thanks to PLIA.

TL;DR: Node’s standalone binaries have been broken on major Linux distributions since version 25. Stay on 24 if you need them functional by default.
If you’re installing Node.js via a standalone binary package, think twice before upgrading to Node 26.
On many Linux distributions these binaries will fail unless you separately install libatomic.so.1.

So, now I have the macbook pro 2019 with an i7 intel in it running ubuntu from the T2 project. It eats... no devours battery while doing it's slow cooking of my legs. It's a bit disappointing, but I got it for cheap - and I'm dual booting so.... Ubuntu for places with a power outlet (linux is more fun) and MacOS when battery is essential. I can live with that...

I opened my Flickr app on Android and noticed that auto-upload had stopped. When going to the settings I noticed I was unable to re-enable auto uploader. I reported a problem, got an answer within the hour, provided some more information and five minutes later the latest update was pulled. I was told to remove the app and yes re-installing the app gave me the previous version. And i was able to back up my photos again. I'd say, that was fast.
Anyone out there using flickr with auto-uploader enabled, check your settings, it might have stopped anywhere in july.

Back from two weeks vacation. My (work) M2 MacBook is connected to the Wi-Fi but says it has no internet connection. All the other devices have a working connection, so I turn off and on the Wi-Fi. It doesn’t work, so I reboot the Mac. It should be a good thing anyway after two weeks sleeping. And surprise, it’s now booting in recovery! 😱 I try to repair with Disk Utility (several times), I reboot (several more times) but it’s still stuck in recovery.
I’m now reluctantly installing Tahoe (I was still on Sequoia) hoping to make it boot again. 🤞
I regret not shutting it down completely before going on vacation…
