In this paper, we introduce a generalized version of an ear decomposition, called a $j$-spider decomposition, for $j$-connected star-free graphs with $j \geq 2$. Its application enables us to improve a previousely known sufficient condition for the existence of a $k$-tree in highly connected star-free graphs, where a $k$-tree is a spanning tree in which every vertex is of degree at most $k$. The dimension of particular $p$-primary torsion subgroups
In this paper we improve upon bounds on the functions $G$ and $H$, due to (Silverberg, 1992), and the function $Φ$, due to (Ozeki, 2024). These functions are of interest in the study of the dimension of $p$-primary torsion subgroups of Mordell--Weil groups of CM abelian varieties over certain infinite extensions of $p$-adic fields.
