A Chain of Springs and Masses (CSM) model is used in the interpretation of molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of movement of atoms in FCC crystals, oriented like during typical simulations performed in studies of the dynamics of line dislocations. The proposed description is inspired by and supported by MD simulations.
