To replace my lightweight linked dipole antenna for #POTA I am iterating on a #FreeCAD design for a winder that works with wire that shouldn't be bent sharply around the edges of a more typical winder.
This design allows either figure-eight or circular winding with a minimum repea

I made nog again

# My eggnog recipe (iterated over a synthesis of historic American recipes)

Ingredients for about 1-1.5 liters of nog (depending on booze)

- 6 yolks
- Optional: 1-2 whites, beaten to stiff peaks
- 100g sugar
- 2x vanilla beans
- About 0.75x nutmeg, grated fine
- 1x 250ml small pot double cream
- 750ml full-fat++ milk (6% is optimal)
- Optional, but delicious: 500ml Napoleon brandy, white rum, vodka, or similar. Don't go too oaky.

Destructions

- Whisk egg yolks and sugar together until cream

(DA NOG)

-continuing...-

- If using raw milk, hell yeah brother. Up to if you if you want to now pasturize the lot of it: hold at 72°C for a couple minutes, then put the whole pan in the freezer and chill, stirring every 30-45 minutes until desired temperature is reached
- Optional: beat whites to stiff peaks, then fold through nog to add foamy fluffiness
- Add booze to taste. Also perfectly drinkable without alcohol!

Serves one, if I have anything to say about it.

This was an interesting problem to work on (back in 2017): A visualization of a path planner for 3D printing (FDM) a single layer/mesh structure of a multi-layer textile. Two setups of the same path strategy which optimized for longest continuous sub-paths and minimum rapids (distance without filament extrusion) between sub-paths. The planner supported six strategies in total, incl. optimizing for straight sub-paths and minimum amounts of "recent" crossings (to allow filament to co

Animation showing a subdivided quadmesh (consisting of ~320 faces) which is being iteratively highlighted by orange paths navigating the edges of the mesh to show progress of the path planner. Initially the paths are longer, but are becoming shorter as more edges of the mesh have already been visited. Visited edges are then shown as thick gray lines.

Oh, how glad I am that I told Claude (command-line version) about `rename -n`. Seeing it iterate over half a dozen different regex patterns that might do what I wanted it to do, but were not quite right
lucky it could spot its errors before running the real thing.
