Black Ivory coffee: Elephant gut bacteria may contribute to its smooth, chocolaty flavor
Coffee beans that pass through the digestive tracts of animals get their unique flavors from the activity of gut microbes, report researchers from the Institute of Science Tokyo. The guts of Asian elephants that produce Black Ivory coffee (BIC) were rich in pectin-digesting bacteria. Heat-driven degradation of pectin during roasting makes coffee bitter. Bacterial activity that reduces the pectin content of BIC could be the source of its smoother, chocolaty, and less bitter flavor.

I recently updated my iPad to iPadOS 26.3 and I’m seeing a very minor bug in Ivory where the top of the screen is smushed, like in the screen shot here. The effect goes away when I open this pane to write this. And it’s ok until I go away for a while and then it’s back,

Hi @… , I use the app on my iPad. Since maybe 12 hours it keeps crashing :( I use lists. I did not change any setting for the app or for any of the lists. If I visit one particular list, the app crashes, I can reproduce this, it’s only this one list. When I open Ivory again, all timelines and all (!) lists are back to a status before the last crash. That’s quite annoy…

My youngest got me the most amazing Christmas present! A session handling some items from the V&A East storehouse. Yes, actual touching allowed! An ancient mandolin, on a cushion. It is intricately inlaid with mother of pearl.

The back of a tiny mandolin from the 17th century. It's made it out all the things you can't use today - mahogany, ivory, turtle shell... But it's beautiful. And so light to hold.

@… it seems boost behavior 🚀 has changed in the recent Ivory update. How can I get it back to how it was before?
99% of the time I really just want to boost and not „choose to quote“. Long press to quote worked well for me.
I vaguely remember there was a setting for that, but I can’t find it anymore.
