Google Earth now has a new cycling trip share layer, which allows making international comparisons. E.g. cycling requires Dutch (or Low Saxon) language skills, or Japanese: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto are on par with Dutch cities on cycling trip share

Approximately 2,500 U.S. Marines are being deployed to the Middle East.

They are part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is based in Japan.
Estimated Arrival
The USS Tripoli, leading the deployment, was seen transiting the Singapore Strait on March 17, 2026.

Given the distance from Singapore to the Middle East, the arrival is expected to take about a week.
