The Mastodon "invite only" situation on many servers got so bad that now people are begging for invites on reddit.
It's really not great for the long term sustainability of the platform when it's so hard to join.
And no, I don't have any idea how to solve the spamming issue that caused so many servers to switch to invite only in the first place
