For better or worse, I’ve had a revelation re: low-profile mechanical keyboards:
Low-Profile Gateron Mechanical Brown switches are at best uninspiring. I’ve gotten to know these via the Keychron K3. It’s fine, but mushy. In the future I will probably skip low-profile mechanical switches altogether.

Man this was fantastic. Watching an absolute master at the instrument attempt to learn a stone cold classic on the fly.

I cleaned up the old Apple keyboard (removed all keys, removed all crumbs, reassembled) and first, I’m surprised how much larger it is than the newer version…
Second, it’s so mushy. I can’t use it, it feels terrible to type on!
I’m going to try a Kisnt KN85 this week and we’ll see how that feels.

So you know how keyboards in VR are a pain in the ass?
Maybe Tacoma’s method for text input is actually a good option for VR, sign language. I don’t really know sign language and I know they differ between languages, but for hand tracking headsets gestures seem like a way better text input than most VR keyboards out there

I’m somewhat surprised there isn’t a vibrant subculture of hex grid computer keyboards. (The ones I’ve heard of are musical keyboards, not for typing.)

Like most people, I've been using a touchscreen smartphone for many years, but I miss phones with keyboards. I've traded the number of words I could type per minute on my BlackBerry for the number of typos I make in a sentence. Oh, and autocorrect! Damn autocorrect!

So I tested a split keyboard last week, and there were a few things that bothered me about it (more on that later) so I figured I would look for other keyboards...
