Why are all photos beginning to look like AI slopp?

Photo by a real photographer, in a header from The Guardian newspaper. It shows a crowd of people demonstrating against wealth inequality. There is something about the inconsistencies in the focus and some kind of strangeness in the facial expressions of the protesters that made me wonder if it was AI-generated. (diffusion AI)

Last night my wife was trying out Tunic on Switch 2, which unfortunately has untranslsted game menus, dialog boxes and such. Luckily, there's a fully translated version of the manual online. But before we looked that up, she tried translating some via her phone, and the results were hilarious. I was LOSING IT about this last night. 😂🤣😂
(And now I'm finding out that the manual and dialog boxes are PURPOSEFULLY a made up language that translates as you play. But, like.. any kind …

Untranslsted dialog box from the game Tunic
Translated dialog box from Tunic that says Kwak Su-da?
Search results saying Kwak Su-da is the name of a Korean individual who is known for expressing strong, direct opinions on political matters 😂

Abstract: Atoms and simple molecules are excellent candidates for new standards and sensors because they are both all identical and their properties are determined by the immutable laws of quantum physics. Here, we introduce the concept of building a standard and sensor of radiative temperature using atoms and molecules. Such standards are based on precise measurement of the rate at which blackbody radiation (BBR) either excites or stimulates emission for a given atomic transition. We summarize the recent results of two experiments while detailing the rate equation models required for their interpretation. The cold atom thermometer (CAT) uses a gas of laser cooled $^{85}$Rb Rydberg atoms to probe the BBR spectrum near 130~GHz. This primary, {\it i.e.}, not traceable to a measurement of like kind, temperature measurement currently has a total uncertainty of approximately 1~\%, with clear paths toward improvement. The compact blackbody radiation atomic sensor (CoBRAS) uses a vapour of $^{85}$Rb and monitors fluorescence from states that are either populated by BBR or populated by spontaneous emission to measure the blackbody spectrum near 24.5~THz. The CoBRAS has an excellent relative precision of $u(T)\approx 0.13$~K, with a clear path toward implementing a primary

Did you know it's possible for two lines to appear to diverge in a 2D perspective view, but actually converge in 3D? Kind of the opposite of parallel lines in 3D converging in 2D.
I discovered this while trying to implement a clipping algorithm. At first I didn't believe it was possible, it felt so foreign to everyday experience. It actually happens whenever two lines converge behind the center of projection, but we rarely see that IRL.

What appears to be a trapezoid, with the narrower base as a horizontal line near the center, getting wider towards the top, until it's cut off by the top edge of the image (forming the wider base).
3D orbit showing what's really going on: the 'narrower base' of the trapezoid was one side of a triangle, and the other two sides get closer together moving away from it, not farther apart.
