@dcm@social.sunet.seJust read that Mozilla has decided to shut down Pocket (!?!). Its integration with Kobo e-readers is great and something I will miss. It will be difficult to find a similarly practical way to read web articles on my e-reader, other than the somewhat clunky pdf-saving cloud sync method. Any tips much welcome!
@timfoster@mastodon.socialI also finally got around to setting up a local Wallabag instance running in a FreeBSD jail on the home server, and applying the requisite hacks to my Kobo to replace its now-gone Pocket support (shakes fist at Mozilla)

The sync-kobo-with-pocket functionality was my favourite way to get long form articles onto a device actually made for reading them.

@candide@vis.social@… I was in the same boat when I was gifted a Kindle. The fact that they aren't compatible with Canadian library systems also helped with justifying the return, and I got a refurbished Kobo instead.
