We introduce a technique for producing a measure coupling between two sofic groups from a family of maps between their sofic approximations. We exploit this to construct measure couplings between pairs of groups with prescribed integrability conditions. As an application we show that solvable Baumslag-Solitar groups, Lamplighters and the group SOL are all exponentially measure equivalent to one another: in particular they are L^p measure equivalent for all p. Two classes of NMDS codes from Roth-Lempel codes
Since near maximum distance separable (NMDS) codes have good algebraic properties and excellent error-correcting capabilities, they have been widely used in various fields such as communication systems, data storage, quantum codes, and so on. In this paper, basing on the generator matrix of Roth-Lempel codes, we present two classes of NMDS codes which generalize Han's and Zheng's constructions in 2023 and 2025, respectively. And we also completely determine their weight distributions.

Why do I refer to the bike as a "lamplighter"? In the old days lamp lighting was a job. A lamp lighter went around in the evening usually with a ladder and lit up each gas powered lamp post in turn.
Some of the people doing this job had specialist bikes made that were very tall. Then they could just cycle between each one, hold on (or lean) and light them without needing the ladder.
