Half a pint of pistachio gelato, 2 ounces limoncello, 1 ounce #espresso.
The gelato melted very quickly, even in the frozen glass, before adding the chilled limoncello and hot espresso. Still good, but I’ll probably make it once more and forget to do it again.
From:

Rocks glass filled with three scoops of quite light green ice cream, with folds of mild yellow and dark brown where the three ingredients meet, visible through the side of the glass. This sits on a tray with the visible text, “…we call it a fika.”

In Poland’s golden hour, a looming threat to Europe’s unity
Across Europe’s newest economic powerhouse,
where living standards have leapfrogged Japan’s and are on course to surpass Spain’s and Israel’s,
incomes are surging, shops are buzzing and borders are secure
— at least for now.

Poland, once a dreary outback in Cold War communism’s slough of despond, is now in Europe’s first rank in economic, diplomatic, military and political terms.

I sentence you to kitty jail 🫵

Photo of a super fluffy white kitten leaning up against the mesh net where it's been imprisoned. Poor little kitty couldn't afford an attorney.

Content warning: re: Medical stuff / MRI selfie

I keep staring at it as though my untrained eyes looking at a cartoonized rendering of the data is going to see something a trained doctor looking at the raw data slice by slice didn't.
🙄
Is that whole brain leaning right in the skull? Probably just some data artifact.
Annoying how the tip of my nose poked out of the scanner range so appears looped around at the back of the head.

Have a joyful #DayOfDionysos here at Erotic Mythology! 🍇
The Campi Flegrei near Naples are a volcanic area that is known for bradyseism, a gradual descent or uplift of the earth's surface due to magma movement. Buildings of the Roman era, complete with intact art, are now submerged in the sea. A fitting conclusion to MerMay 🧜‍♀️

One hundred years ago today, downtown Santa Barbara was devastated by an earthquake centered just offshore.
The main commercial district, State Street, was in ruins. Some buildings completely collapsed
— the vulnerability in their designs laid bare by the power of Mother Nature. Around a dozen people died.
Yet, despite the destruction, the great Santa Barbara earthquake remains relatively obscure, seismically speaking,
even in a state notorious for its shaking.
