Elon Musk’s wealth is 2% of Nominal GDP of China.
He can spend 1 million USD per day and if he lives another 50 years, he will still have at least 980 billion dollars upon his death.
This is next level fucked up.

“Enterprise-level developers” working on mission critical banking software don’t make people have to open up developer tools to see the regular expression error on a registration form challenge 2026.
It’s not rocket science, folks.

Screenshot of the registration page for Bank of Ireland. The form has no errors and fails silently. If you open up developer tools, two “Pattern attribute value <long regular expression>: invalid character in character class” errors tell a different story.

The image is a close-up, waist-level shot of a person wearing a black t-shirt and camouflage-patterned pants. Attached to the person's belt is a black holster, commonly used for carrying a firearm. However, instead of a weapon, a yellow wrapper with the words "CHEESE BURGER" printed in large, bold, orange letters is sticking out of the holster. The wrapper appears to be from a fast-food item, likely a cheeseburger. The person's hand is visible on the left side of the frame, resting near the hol…

Today's Gist covers the efforts required to try to stand up the appearance of widespread far right activity in Ireland.
thegist.ie/the-gist-sunshine-a

It also showed just how hard full-time grifters have to work to try to keep the fake appearance of local animus up, leading to some Richard-Scarry level questions of What Do These People Do All Day?

"A recurring feature of often short-lived local mobilisation groups was the involvement of far-right organisers from outside the area taking on leading roles. For example in Athlone, Bundoran, Castleblaney, Carrickmacross, letterkenny, Oldcastle and Roscommon, the same person travelled to distr…

I've seen a lot of brilliantly made craft cocktails dedicated tothe Reflecting Pool this past weekend, and | thought, something was missing. Something wasn't right. They didn't quite capture the level of class and sophistication that our Reflecting Pool currently has, so here's my version.

To start, line your glass with a blue fruit roll up.
Then you're going to need:
2 0z rum
4 oz juice that is kinda yellow (pineapple, mango, orange, lemonade, whatever you like)
1 0z blue curacao (you c…

Anyone else seeing occasional spam email turning up in their #Gmail inbox for the first time in, like, 20 years? Not floods, but one every day or two. (Yes I am old enough to remember when that low a spam level would have been a miracle. But it interests / intrigues me that any are, suddenly, getting through.

Eli Lilly is preparing a phase 2 trial for VERVE-102, a one-time gene editor acquired from Verve Therapeutics. The highest dose cut LDL cholesterol by 62% in patients, a reduction sustained for up to 18 months across 35 participants.
The treatment permanently switches off PCSK9, a cholesterol-producing gene, using base editing that flips a single DNA letter without breaking the double helix.

Finally managed to weed eat and cut the lawn today and got the last of the gravel moved so that we can get a bobcat in here to level the yard!! Yaaayy!!
Also did some cleaning out on the pond. Turns out the moss is great… until it REALLY latches in and makes space for grass. There was so much into the stream that it was backing up into the top pond, causing it to overflow, and the whole system lose water!
When I pulled up the moss, it pulled much of the gravel with it! So lesson learned. Very light on the moss, no more gravel in the stream, keep things neat and tidy!
In all though, the pond cleared up fast thanks to the barrel filters and all is good!

oopsie doodles!
Came outside to do some dirt moving only to find the #poolpond intake bay very nearly empty!
I have not been topping up the water since I filled it about 9 days ago? It has been cooler but windy and the last little bit of rain we got was a few days ago.
It must have just got below the level of the intake bay in the past hour or two as it was on its way to emptying. Luckily i caught it in time.
Water is being added now. I am also going to use the twirly sprinkler to water the flower and blueberry garden and it will also add to the pond at the same time in a nice aerated way.
Adding from the hose is not ideal as all that chlorine goes in at the same time
Anyways, crisis averted and information gained. It is already coming back up nicely.
hopefully it is full in time to have a dip after dirt moving!
