Protesters and agents have clashed outside an ICE detention facility in Broadview,
where residents have become familiar with the burning sensation of tear gas on their skin.
A single father with no known history of violence was fatally shot by an ICE agent who said the man was trying to run him over.
The sight of agents chasing people and loading them into unmarked vehicles has become common throughout Chicago.

Many years ago I was working with a friend to find a bug in a Makefile generator. We had a megabyte or so of Makefile we needed to examine. He was an emacs user. It took him minutes just to open the file. I was using sam. It took about a second for sam to load, and I found the problem before he'd even finished loading the file.
The speed of tools matters, and big files are common nowadays. Things should stay fast as their workload grows. That goes double for interactive tools.
By the way, it still takes me 30 seconds to log in to my bank. I wonder how long it will take when it's an LLM-generated landing page.

It appears that the latest version of Portainer has a significant bug that prevents access to the local server environment, meaning you cannot manage your containers.
Until the developers fix the problem, the temporary solution is to use version 2.20.2.

Riding the 2- Sutter to the Ferry Building, I had a chance to observe the efficient use of street space with SFMTA 's bus/right turn/short term parking/loading & delivery parking all in one.
Doesn't really help transit times, though.
And consolidating stops won't shift the needle as much as stopping the abuses of the transit lanes.

The fascist who killed Heather Heyer at Unite the Right helped turn the tides against the last Trump administration. He said there were "very fine people on both sides." The resistance grew, antifa doxxing fascists started getting those fash fired.
But some of those fash didn't stop. They kept organizing their terror cells. The fash who killed Heyer was with a group called Vanguard America. Patriot Front is a Nazi group that split off from Vanguard America. They started terrorizing people by loading up in box trucks and piling out for spontaneous marches.
That box truck tactic probably sounds familiar. Patriot Front basically disappeared at the same time that ICE started recruiting hard.
Let me make it more clear. The very same Nazis from UTR who killed Heather Heyer, who Trump called "very fine people," are now employees of DHS. They've been carrying out the ethnic cleansing they always dreamed of, and they're being paid by the government, *with your tax dollars*, to do it. And now, just like in Charlottesville, they've murdered an unarmed protestor.
This feels similar because it is. These are the same people killing daughters and mothers. Killing unarmed protestors, out of rage not fear, then lying and claiming self defense. This is the same tactic it's always been. This is the same thing they've always done.
It seems like we may have reached the Heather Heyer point of this administration early with Renee Good. Now would be a good time for everyone to get into the streets and stay there until this is over. Everyone turned the tides before, and now he's so much weaker.
This can all be over if we fight like hell to end it.

Xilinx XC7Z010, the first Zynq I've decapped.
Top metal has pretty significant damage because it spent over an hour in the acid to get all of the substrate off, then several fairly aggressive cleaning cycles to remove most of the polyimide (but there's still some golden residue scattered around, I'll try some more cleaning tomorrow to try and get all of it and re-image)
But this die is destined to be stripped to substrate so I can do floorplan analysis, so that's …

Xilinx XC6SLX25 (Samsung 45nm) from a previous decap run that I had to come back and finish because it was still stuck to the substrate.
A few light scratches in top passivation. These big BGAs need a lot of handling to peel back layers of fiberglass so acid can get in, which increases damage risk. Using fuming nitric usually you don't need that but I don't want it in my house :P
You can't see a whole lot here except the GTP. But if you compare this to the abstracted …

Top metal image of an FPGA. Not a whole lot visible since the whole die is covered in power/ground grid, except for the GTP SERDES block in the top just left of center
