Got USB-C - USB-C networking going between two of my snapdragon laptops in the early hours; it took some DT tweaks to persuade the ports to work in device mode; but then loading g_ncm and it came up nicely.
Hitting 2.72 Gbps which is hmm, low - but it was pegging a CPU, I'm not sure what usb-usb networking is supposed to be able to get.

I do all my work in the terminal, so it has to be quick. How my zsh starts in 30 milliseconds without a framework, and how to measure where your own shell spends its time.

ngscopeclient CI update: builds are being properly scheduled and queued by github pushes.
I've fixed a lot more static analysis issues including several memory and file handle leaks during error cases and a few resource leaks in PNG icon loading even on the happy path.
We're now down to zero errors and 645 cppcheck clang-analyzer warnings which is pretty decent compared to the 9999 we started out with.
DEB, RPM. and tar.gz build artifacts are now being generated …

IMO it's going to get *much* worse before it gets better. The cost of discovery has gone from “months of expert time” to maybe “hours of expert time" with this new wave of tools; and most of the experts *might* not even have access to the “best" tools, yet. (citation needed on that one, but… there are power-multiplier tools, certainly, for people who use them).

Abstract: Cyclic pore-pressure or normal stress variations arise both in relation to natural earthquakes and in engineered subsurface systems, yet their effect on fault stability remains poorly constrained at the grain scale. Here we numerically model, using a coupled Discrete Element--fluid dynamics model, the response of a sheared, fluid-saturated or dry, gouge-filled fault to effective normal stress oscillations over a wide frequency range (0.5-10000 Hz). The effective normal stress is oscillated either by cycling the pore-pressure or by directly cycling the normal stress, while keeping the stress state below the Mohr-Coulomb threshold measured in continuous loading. Despite this sub-critical loading, we observe failure across most frequencies, with a non-monotonic frequency dependence. A distinct non-failure window emerges at intermediate frequencies (30-200 Hz), bounded by failure at both lower and higher frequencies; the system exhibits four regimes from cyclic failure-and-arrest to continuous sliding. Pore-pressure and normal stress oscillations produce the same regime structure, confirming that they act as equivalent forcings via Terzaghi's principle, with fluid coupling adding only a delay due to dilatant hardening. Sub-critical failure arises from dilation-induced strength deterioration via two mechanisms: (i) low-frequency cycles allow sufficient time for shear-driven ratcheting dilation, while (ii) high-frequency cycles induce dynamic dilation (acoustic fluidization) via amplified seepage forces, stress gradients and inertial forces. The intermediate non-failure window represents the gap between these mechanisms. These results identify frequency as a controlling parameter for failure in granular materials, with implications for dynamic earthquake triggering and cyclic injection protocols.

We present RTP-LLM, a high-performance inference engine for industrial-scale LLM deployment, successfully deployed across Alibaba Group serving over 100 million users. RTP-LLM addresses fundamental bottlenecks through integrated design. It optimizes model loading via file-order-driven I/O and parallel I/O-communication overlapping. The Prefill-Decode Disaggregation architecture decouples compute-intensive prefill from memory-bound decode phases, combined with hierarchical multi-tiered KV cache management enabling efficient cache reuse. In addition, RTP-LLM incorporates modular speculative decoding supporting multiple algorithms, adaptive KV cache quantization, and decoupled multimodal processing, with support for multi-level parallelism.
Comprehensive evaluations across diverse model architectures (8B-235B parameters) have been conducted, where both controlled benchmarks and real production workloads are used. The results demonstrate RTP-LLM's superior performance against vLLM and SGLang: 4.7x-6.3x model loading speedup, 35-37% TTFT P95 latency reduction with 215% cache reuse improvement in production traffic scheduling, 1.12x-2.48x and 1.86x-2.52x throughput improvements in speculative decoding and multimodal inference, respectively, and 35-40% batch latency reduction with 1.9x-3.0x TTFT improvement in quantized inference. RTP-LLM's production-proven architecture and open-source availability make it a comprehensive solution for industrial LLM deployment.

Nextcloud is really bad at loading external libraries, specially those with large amounts of files, and I use it only with external libraries. Plus, it's quite annoying to maintain since I need ro run nextcloud-occ commands every update. I just want something that lets me upload, download move files around and stuff, I don't really use most of other nextcloud features (precisely because of too much lock-in). Plus working well on mobile devices so I can upload stuff from my phone. Having the ability to integrate with Collabora/LibreOffice Online would be great, but I was never able to get that or OnlyOffice to work anyway.

This is the second time it's become unusable.
The culprit? the same as the last time...she has an ungodly amount of emails open in tabs and it just crashes. Troubleshoot mode seems to get by that to let me 'Close Other Tabs' on a tab.
Boggles my mind it doesn't have some way to 'open clean' without loading the open emails...or at least a setting.
