This is the petroleum age. It orders our world. It is at the heart of the military industrial complex that maintains the global hierarchy. Cars are not only a symbol of social hierarchy, but a mechanism to maintain it.
That age must end if humanity is to survive. When it ends, the wealth disparity it enabled must also collapse.
