Went to fight the (#Minecraft) dragon using ‘ianxofour’s bridge method. Forgot to take enough blocks. Tried to improvise using obsidian from the pillars. Discovered the dragon can fly through pillars and get you. Had to do it the Olden Way - with a bow and arrow (didn’t have beds and the bridge prevented normal perching). Almost destroyed my fancy expensive bow.
Next time it’s /kill @e[type=minecraft:dragon], for damn sure.

Pumpkin pies have neither of these issues. They are made from three separately farmable ingredients, which incentivizes the construction of unique farming infrastructure, but can also be farmed manually early on. The chickens don't die, they only get exploited for their eggs :3 and all three farms can eventually be automated - and with the autocrafter, you can even fully automate pie production now! Of course you can also buy them from villagers, but again, tedious.
I think this is how good food should work in Minecraft - made from multiple ingredients that can't be eaten by themselves, and providing a truly rewarding experience. Pumpkin pies are nutritionally just barely below steaks and carrots, but so much more fun to play with. This is why I believe they are the best food source in the game.
Honorary mention: Suspicious stew with saturation is the only nonstackable food that's worth considering and I highly recommend playing with it for a while if you have the mooshrooms available :3

Having lots of fun with DALL-E. I have zero artistic ability but know what I like and generally quite bad at interpreting images - even emoji. So it’s pretty cool to be able to take things that I imagine - I want a similar scene out on a wall in my entertainment room at least now I can show someone.

Today I am Very Much enjoying that Minecraft returns its villager data in LooksLikeIsNotJSON™ format (basically “JSON But What If We Couldn’t Be Arsed With Quotes?”). Which means I’m going to have to write a custom parser. BLEUGH.
Luckily Ragel is still around and I know how to use that already.
(and at least it’s not EDF, eh.)

Today we are discovering that RCON has no official multi-packet response support in the protocol even though a) the maximum response packet is 4096 bytes, b) several things which talk RCON (-glares at Minecraft-) return messages much, much longer than 4096 bytes and, most hilariously, c) I haven’t yet found an RCON client library which supports multi-packet / long responses.

The biggest reason I was on Twitter before was to follow almost every Mojang employees to get *all* the Minecraft news.

Today I am slightly confused how a datapack for world generation generates different chunks for the same seed on the same version of Minecraft (albeit with different JDKs.) Not even slightly, mind - one of them has a lava floor, the other the void. Completely bonkers.
