There was a time when, if you were lucky enough to get a piece of software stable and working well, it continued to be stable and work well.
Now we have relentless updates, whose problems are exemplified by an overnight update of my Mac to OS X 15.6 doing a factory reset of the settings of many of my programs.
Let's not even go into the behavioral changes that get pushed that invalidate all your muscle memory in order to boost some product manager's performance review.
I like stability, but it's just another casualty of this endless churn.

I was really annoyed when they stole a made-up word from Stargate SG-1 and (more or less) used it as a drug name (Tremfya).
But now they've stolen "Manjaro" and are using it as "Mounjaro", a drug name.

OMG, yes. The last time I looked at clothing in M&S it was just a sea of brown and beige (with no offense intended to those members of the beige community here 😄).

All the premises (axioms?) of Liquid Glass design are weird and wrong.
Especially the basic premise of "content is more important than the user interface".
Not even going into how the moniker "content" devalues creative human work—the real problem about this is that it's simply bullshit.
In human-computer interaction content and the user interface to interact with it are normally equally important—with the interaction elements becoming _more important_ while an interaction is either imminent or taking place.
The most basic thing is to make buttons look like buttons and not change how they look like depending on what's behind them, as well as not make them move around so you can easily recognize, find and tap or click them.

Managers were starting to understand that velocity on its own has no value. But then along came #AI and said "but what if we made that velocity 10x?" and they fell for it all over again - because they only have a surface level understanding of the work.
The logic of the feature factory has permitted #genAI
