Now instead of turning on the oven and setting the temperature in two swift turns, the digital display now wants you to set a timer first and you have to go through an extensive menu of "features", turning the simple 2-step act of turning on the oven to an at least 5 step annoyance where I had to decline setting a time multiple times. This is not even a "smart device".

It's died, no-one uses it anyway and Mum's in a care home, so it's come out and been replaced with a reg'lar plughole. While he's here Dad's got him to fix the downstairs loo and now somehow we're having a new shower fitted in our (ie not Dad's) bathroom. Blimey.

I was 20 when it came out, ridiculously in love and I adored this song. I know everyone's rude about it but when I was 20 it absolutely hit the spot and I played the single to death, so much so that when I heard it today my tummy flipped, it's such a core memory of happy days. I was sat with Mum in the care home at the time so the contrast between times was very great.

He's the first of that generation to go and it feels huge. My hair has started falling out due to stress though fortunately it's not noticable.
