That utterly awful feeling of waiting for an email and getting nothing but spam. This has been me for days, and though there are far worse feelings in the world, I am heartily ready to be done with this one! At this point, I might even take bad news, though of course I hope otherwise.

Feeling a bit down after reducing my antidepressant dose. Maybe I need to bump it back up a little. Managing my brain is a full time job 😣

@… is wondering how much trouble a skipped heading level is for screen reader users. Three users have replied but it'd be great to see more feedback. Anyone else willing to reply to Manuel's post? Here is the link:

Picked up a copy of Sen. McMorrow's new book at AADL tonight!
Thanks to everyone who had an N95 on. Had a feeling an Ann Arbor crowd would be good for that – it was very refreshing and I'm sure the library staff appreciated it as much as I did

A bad #Python bump morning in #Gentoo:
1. A project that couldn't be bothered to make a release with a security fix for 4 years finally made a release. Of course, if you make one release in 7 years, it is definitely a good idea to replace your build system with a broken #PythonPoetry #setuptools hybrid.
2. Another project made a release with a bunch of test failures — that were fixed in "master" branch already at the time, but I guess nobody bothered testing the release branch.
3. Just discovered that a bunch of projects are using pkg_resources namespaces again — and we were supposed to have gotten rid of them years ago! Of course it's #Google. And on top of that, since pkg_resources are now throwing deprecation warnings, they are indirectly breaking random other test suites.
On the positive side, test_lolwut is failing for me in redis-py.

I am astonished that the #Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial
auschwitz.org/en/
still supports or at least has an account on X (Twitter). They have at least one account here. @…
I have written them to express my dismay and have urged them to drop their X account with no response. I believe that it would help if as many of us as possible would write them to express your feelings about this.

Please boost.

Looks like the USPS shut down the covidtests.gov at 8:00 PM EDT on 3/9/2025, per text on the website.
I'm feeling somewhat fortunate in that I got my order placed and received in the last couple weeks.
If they had too many tests stockpiled, better management and allowing people to order additional test kits seems like a better choice than destroying good tests.
