Many people are cheering for the popping of the "AI" bubble. Maybe it's not that simple though

Any conferences you think I should put on my radar? Would love to speak more about decomputing/active luddism and tech.

When looking at what the western AI companies are doing my current view is:
- OpenAI is actively evil. There's no morals or anything. Just scamers trying anything to amass power and money
- Anthropic is has sniffed so much of its own farts that most of what they are doing is just writing fan fiction for their own models. They are not evil as much as they just need psychological help
- Mistral is yelling a lot of "we are European" which nobody hears cause who give…

I criticize Mozilla quite strongly. That's not cause I want them to die. It's because while they might've lost their way I strongly believe we need organizations like Mozilla. Been re-reading Langdon Winner's "The Whale and the Reactor".
Winner published this in 1988 and it still 100% applies. His criticism of "values" discourse, of certain strategies of trying to defend important structures by adopting the language and thinking of the opponent. The focus on numbers while devaluing experience. The hollowness of the decentralization discourse.
Damn.
Was in a trolly mood so I submitted a "Decomputing" talk to a conference on "digital sovereignty". Let's see how that lands.

I do not think that Meta's Metaverse failed cause the devs weren't efficient enough. It's conceptually flawed and underbaked at best, without vision and direction. A toy Mark no longer cares too much about.
(And even getting 5% more efficiency out of LLMs is a stretch, studies show improvement of 1 or 2% at best - because you have to spend a lot of time to clean up the generated mess, especially if you are building frameworks and foundational technologies)
