I’ve been fascinated by the great auk for a while and was delighted to find this one on the shore of Skerjafjörður. This sculpture is easier to get to than the one Reykjaness by Todd McGrain. This sculpture is by œlöf Nordal, more info in alt.

De klinkerweg werd rond 1960 aangelegd als de eerste noordelijke aanvoerroute voor het nog te bouwen Lelystad. Langs de weg zou de allereerste wijk met sociale woningen worden gebouwd maar dat plan ging uiteindelijk niet door.
