"OOP grew dramatically during the decade between 1985 and 95. The first OOPSLA Conf was held in '86, chaired by Daniel Ingalls of Smalltalk fame. Bjarne Stroustrup released the first versions of C . Brad Cox melted Smalltalk on top of C and created Objective-C. Bertrand Meyer released both Eiffel and his bestseller book. Borland added OOP support to Turbo Pascal 5.5. Famous groups like “The Three Amigos,” “The Gang of Four,” and the Agile movement coalesced around OOP."

"What if the 'material' of music could be something that transcends these more object-oriented forms? Can music, for instance, be a process, a way of relating, a way of listening, a way interacting? And if music can be de-coupled from objects, what might my role as a composer be in the creation of this music?"

I do not like how Haskell’s antagonism towards cyclic imports leads me to put all my `data` declarations in one file, and then distribute the functionality everywhere.
You don’t have to have classes to benefit from information hiding a la object-oriented programming.
