One thing that drives me crazy about Gmail is the way it displays email addresses like Nelson Minar (nelson@monkey.org). This is not correct. It should be Nelson Minar <nelson@monkey.org>. I first reported this bug before Gmail launched to the public in 2004. Now a whole generation has grown up learning The Wrong Thing.

I have given evidence to Oireachtas Committees quite a few times over the years. They have run the gamut from professional, inquiring and constructive to, um, not that.
The format relies entirely on the legislators attending wanting to make it work and respecting their witnesses (even if not agreeing with them).
Having voluntary witnesses refuse to attend for fear of being mistreated undermines the opportunities for those constructive inquiries.
