I know git doesn't track renames. I know it constructs them from adds and deletes. I know my repo has lots of similar (not identical!) boilerplate files ... I still renamed a bunch of directories and was surprised that merging this change into existing feature branches produced phantom changes that existed on neither branch!!

I understand Dunning-Kruger is not a thing but we NEED a term for this kind of ignorance-based overconfidence.

stackoverflow: Stack Overflow favorites (2011)
A bipartite network of users and the posts they have favorited, from the online Q&A site Stack Overflow. An edge (i,j) connects a user i to a post j if that user "favorited" that post (a kind of a rating). Edges are timestamped.
This network has 641876 nodes and 1301942 edges.

If you ever feel like you aren’t achieving as much as you want to, just remember there are people out there who are content with having read just one book in their lives, convinced it means they know everything there is to know about the world.
That said, try not to dwell on the fact that they’re the ones running the world right now or you might feel bad again.

⬆️ dit soort zaken zijn een belangrijke reden dat ik zoveel mogelijk biologische honing koop. In de praktijk honing met een veel duidelijker eigen smaak.
Niet dus zo'n algemene 'nergens naar smakende' goedkope honing.
