@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.ioIt’s “great” how we finally have a glimpse of at least partially working 5GL (using LLMs to generate code is very close to the 1980s dream of constraint-based programming) and immediately everyone was like “we need to apply this to all areas of human life, doesn’t matter if it’s bullshit that isn’t even remotely working for those areas”.
What really gets me is the extreme hubris and delusion of grandeur that so many programmers and tech people have about this.
Don’t let your character flaws and personality issues out to make other people suffer. Idk get therapy.

One of his jobs is beekeeping 🐝 (having looked after them for 18 years), and it was amazing to hear first hand of bee intelligence. He said so much, but in summary: that he has a relationship with the bees, that they recognise humans (and recognise him), and that one can discern in experience personality among bees - both as individual and as hive.
