I plugged in one of my bike lights that has been sitting unused for 6 months it started smoking! The USB-C cable is actually charred a bit.

A big advantage of home automation / #homeassistant is that you can remotely mess up and accidentally defrost your fridge because somehow the smart plug it is connected to is turned off while applying a software update. Bonus points for doing so while away for multiple weeks. Ask me how I know.

Ok, so I have this HP-server in my garage that I've had for years.
I decided to plug it in, add drives and connect the iLO port.
Ofcourse, I have forgotten the iLO password - and I dont have a monitor that I can use to reset it via the BIOS.
I do remember this vulnerability from a couple of years ago, that where I could get the password (or change it) for the Administrator user with a curl post request.
But I can't find it.

According to the Port of Seattle, Seattle's 2025 cruise season set new records, with 950,000 passengers, 289 sailings, and 67 percent of ships using electric plug-in power while they were docked in Seattle. The Port says these cruises (which mostly sail to Alaska and back) boosted Seattle's economy by $1.3 billion.

Replaced battery and earpiece speaker in wife's iToy today. All in all, the job took 2 hours, 1h45 of which was struggling with and ultimately performing major surgery on the motherboard battery input connector which was utterly lunched by the last person to install a battery in there.
