TIL that Microsoft Copilot is now trying to show a "face" with different "emotions". That it's not working right now is not my issue. That MS are even more explicitly trying to trick people into thinking they are having a conversation with an actual person, however, most definitely *is*.
Did this "feature" run through an ethics board review? Is the additional emotional deception of users intentional? Who actually wants that sh..?

I finally got access to the Copilot Appearance feature and Microsoft's AI assistant really doesn't wanna show off its facial expressions

"The biased random number generator deleted my production database", people just really want to fool themselves into believing "AI" is real.
For years now I've said that no one would dare cross bridges or board a plane if civil/aerospace engineers worked like the majority of software engineers, and this whole hype just makes me point better than I ever could 😅
