"Bitcoin is crashing hard, reaching historic lows of well below the $70,000 mark. At the time of writing, the token is hovering just above $63,000, levels we haven’t seen since October 2024."
"According to Coindesk, the average cost to mine one Bitcoin is currently around $87,000 — far higher than its current going rate, making it an extremely unprofitable proposition."

The title already hits the nail on its head.
Further down in the article: "Compelled speech isn’t free speech, guys. And this is nothing more than a blatant intimidation campaign to frighten away reporters from reporting the truth about Palantir."

The product delivery lifecycle is composed of service relationships. AI's main value proposition is freedom from relationships.
When designers champion AI tools, we are not making ourselves layoff-proof. We are reinforcing a system that frames us as unnecessary friction.
If we don't want to serve as janitors for vibe prototypes, We must invest in deliberately designing the service relationships that make up the PDLC.

Massive win for the Green party in the Gorton and Denton by-election; not even close in the end:
Hannah Spencer (Green Party): 14,980 Matt Goodwin (Reform UK): 10,578
Angeliki Stogia (Labour Party): 9,364
Hopefully the UK government will now realise it needs to tack hard to the left. Chasing after Farage's xenophobic votes is a losing proposition.

Lit-dropped Noe Valley in defense of Prop I and got a solid workout 😅 This is how we're gonna win and preserve funding for social housing. #sfpol

A tall outdoor staircase runs alongside gardens up a steep hill. There's a house at the top, indicating this is in a residential neighborhood. The steps are concrete edged with strips of metal, and metal handrails run along the sides.

Content warning: re: AI Economics

Subscriptions and memberships that passively renewed despite months of disuse. Introductory pricing that sneakily doubled after the trial period. Each one was rebranded as a hostage situation that agents could negotiate. The average customer lifetime value, the metric the entire subscription economy was built on, distinctly declined.
...
Any category where the service provider’s value proposition was ultimately “I will navigate complexity that you find tedious” was disrupted, as the agents found nothing tedious.
😆 Disenshitification by AI would be quite a reversal of the current trends.
[...Door-dash is disintermediated by AI...]
This was oddly poetic, as perhaps the only example in this entire saga of agents doing a favor for the soon-to-be-displaced white collar workers. When they ended up as delivery drivers, at least half their earnings weren’t going to Uber and DoorDash. Of course, this favor from technology didn’t last for long as autonomous vehicles proliferated.
😆
