My actual experience of AI coding over the last few days. Starting point is a large working prototype application written mostly in typescript, and I want a version in Python, so I have Claude working away at it, porting over the BDD tests, the unit tests, comparing with the TS. This morning it’s working on unit tests for 8 services. it saw there was a lot to do, so it spawned four coder specialists and worked for about 50min, creating 188 tests, then continued with four more coders.

With the emergence of more processors with 64 cores or more, I'm thinking more about whether it makes sense to implement a hypercube virtualised on a single chip with a single vector of memory, or as a literal hypercube of 64 (say) RP2350s. I understand the problems of transferring data across a hypercube, but I don't have a good feeling of how the bus contention on a multicore processor scales. What should I read?

One problem with this chair is that the arms aren't long enough to embed the split keyboard into the arms as planned. So I've been mucking about trying to design a suitable arm-extender.
Made a prototype in corrugated plastic and a blender model carefully planning where the screws and straps should go. Looking promising.

This. And yet: looking at its context, it was _shipped_ soon after that prototype period, renamed to 'java'script to tack on to the zeitgeist, and built as a glue language without basic debugging. Some of the mistakes persist!
But it did in fact turn into a reasonable language that's fully developed. Not without deep flaws, but most real systems have deep flaws. The _way_ the half-assing plays out matters a lot.
