Some photos from today's hike in the mountains. To escape the fog.
It was very very icy at the bottom. And I was super happy to have my micro spikes.
The way up was pretty calm. Right the #silentsunday I had desired. At the summit there were a bit too many people and I didn't see proper motives. So I just enjoyed the view and the really warm temperature.

Six hours of weird #ChristmasMusic I put together for a friend of my kids
There’s some 🪗 in there over the decades, but mostly a wacky range of rock, pop, western swing, a couple of pretty tunes, RUN DMC make an appearance, along with the Berlin Philharmonic and Charlie Parker, both in modern remixes of holiday classics 🫣

I do find value in Shazam when I go out. It's become one of the main ways I find new music.
It also links music to an experience for me, so if I discover something new when I'm in my happy place, like a coffee shop, I can re-live that moment when I listen again.
Currently, I'm listening to CloZee... I picked up a track (Revolution Sixis Remix) from this album yesterday. #Shazam #AppleMusic
I stayed up far too long tonight for this one, but it was fun. Saw that we were dealing with an absolute metric ton of ranges at the very beginning so my initial thought was to reduce/merge those ranges and that's what I spent most of my time on before even tackling part 1.
It paid off tremendously and made solving everything very, very easy. There's still the Nim version to write, but I'll handle that after I get some sleep.
Solution:
I think putting the `y` coordinate first in the Point struct and using a BTreeMap/BTreeSet (which is sorted by the key) was quite neat. It allowed me to query ranges (i.e. rows) efficiently without the need to keep the whole grid in memory.

#AdventOfCode Day 5: My stupid part 1 solution was too slow (because I checked each ingridient instead of compare the ranges). After fixing that it was fast and correct. I have a plan for part 2, but $job to do, so let's see when I get a round tuit (to quote an old #Perl saying).
Good Morning #Canada
Here in beautiful Belle Ewart the temp is -22°C, feeling like -31°C with the wind. But it's a dry cold....
Out west they are struggling with double digit temperatures on the plus side. Edmonton's winter festival organizers are making snow, protecting ice blocks and praying for plunging temps to save their skating rink. The unseasonable weather has impacted events throughput Alberta. The Banff and Lake Louise ice carving festival, Art of Ice, had to take down sculptures because they weren't safe. They were similarly impacted last year. The World’s Longest Hockey Game (WLHG) got underway last Thursday and players are dealing with slushy conditions while golf driving ranges are packed with eager duffers.
I'd gladly make the sacrifice and swap weather conditions with our fellow Canucks out west. It would be a burden that I'd gladly carry.
