Last night I was heating the wok to make fried rice (using up leftover proteins from previous dinners as I do) and I found, to my surprise and dismay, that there was only one tiny, limp carrot in the fridge (normally we have heaps). Instead of panicking, I remembered that we had a root-bound carrot plant growing in our greenhouse. So I rushed out in the dark, found the pot mostly by feel (the carrot foliage is distinctive) and brought it out onto the deck to investigate. 1/3
