One small thing I wasn't aware of.
For car plates the renewal process is automatic unless you have outstanding fines.
You can also subscribe to reminders about your car plates, license (or photo ID) and health card before they expire. I signed up for that. I will still put a reminder in my personal calendar for that, but two ways of being told I have to renew something is a good thing.
Now to do the same for my wife.
Ok, I was thinking I didn’t have anything for this, but then I was reminded by a couple of posts that folks have made that my focus on maintaining the house climate is extremely “Dad” energy 😂, making sure windows are closed or that we start cooling early in the day so we have thermal inertia.

@dawid@social.craftknight.comiOS lets you sync calendars, reminders and contacts with caldav and carddav. I also notice it lets you sync... apple notes with a gmail account? How does that work, is there any self-hostable server that allows syncing that too? If so, any clients for Linux that are able to read those? I always assumed Notes were some kind of proprietary format!
I really like Finalist app. Bringing all flavors of taks into a single view. Making me imagine how the day could look like. Integrating with Reminders & Calendars to avoid the “yet another inbox”.
I am confessing that I’m using the free version though.
Gosh, I just can't imagine why no one wants to be at Trump's classless party:
▫️ Embarrassingly weak D-list entertainment
▫️ Shoddy exhibits with low participation
▫️ Record temps & pea-soup humidity
▫️ Green reflecting pool, pretentious ballroom, laughably fake arch & constant reminders of how badly the worst president in US history has screwed up America...

I spent an enjoyable day moseying around the Sperrins today.
On everything from empty swooping A-roads, to single-track, lunar-landscape, high-numbered B-roads which left reminders on the undertray, it was a smashing chance to be out alone* in the countryside with the roof down and a chance to clear the head.
Must do again sometime (though would really like to take Bob next time)
* occasional flocks of sheep and many tractors, not withstanding

In around two weeks I’m migrating from iOS to a postmarketOS phone. Please leave app suggestions, I’m definitely going to need them!Waydroid is… fine, but not preferred Please avoid android apps unless it’s something that is like confirmed to work well on waydroid, is proprietary or something so has no alternatives or something like that. I’m not launching waydroid to listen to music, to read my e-mails or to use xmpp.
Some examples of what I’m looking for, probably for Plasma Mobile:
And also just anything y’all find useful in your daily life with a postmarketOS daily driver, I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of stuff here.
I know some of those exist for desktop Linux, but I’m obviously looking for stuff made with phones in mind (so like… apps made for gnome should be automatically fine maybe?)
(Also, has anyone managed to get nix’s system-manager to work on postmarketOS? There’s no way I’m configuring all of this by hand every time I need to flash it lmao)

I mean the things like "when's my next [event] again?" [Response] "oh, please set up a reminder for two days before that telling me to buy [stuff]"
I use ("dumb") Siri on Home Pod (and on my iPhone before I migrated away from iOS, like to set reminders for the next day without getting distracted or getting light im my face while on bed trying to sleep) to set timers and stuff when I don't have a device at hand, as well as for turning off my living room lights via the Home Assistant integration when going to bed (since the switch is far from the hallway), so these extra features would be really cool specially if it was something local, open source and with integration with stuff in my NAS.
