Minor petty thing, but it is disgusting how news reports will talk about "ICE agents" interactions with people who resist, observe, or interfere. When the objective experience of these people is that they are dealing with *armed, masked men in unmarked cars*. And these supposedly official representatives of the US government are never named, yet the civilians assaulted and detained are.

This poses a vexing problem for resistance: a direct force-on-force assault against ICE by small groups of citizens is foolish…but holding signs and waiting for the next election sure as hell ain’t gonna cut it either.
We have to find ways to fight back on the streets — but it has to look good on TikTok and on the news and to members of Congress and judges and the gaze of the whole world. Cameras and whistles are a start, but it can’t stop there. All this is not just going away on its own.

Call for activist research -- I'm interested in any theories (academic and not) that discuss how oppressive practices are often unified, but resistance is often divided. The researcher I know who discusses this has committed multiple acts of sexual assault, etc, so I would prefer to find another source. Likely, there will be someone preceding them, as is often the case.

The Florida congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost said he was assaulted by a man who said Donald Trump would deport him at a party during the Sundance film festival in Utah.
“Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face,” Frost said in a Saturday post on X. “He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay.”
