PSA 1: Slack doesn’t have a “Block” function. It does however have a “Hide” function.
PSA 2: By default, Slack includes everyone’s email address in the info you get when you right-click on them and view their profile. Thankfully, this can be turned off.

It was a beautiful day for #flying in southern California. Visibility was at least 90 miles, and I managed to squeeze nearly 2 hours out of a few thermals near Warner Springs before making a stop at Santa Catalina Island on the way home.

A rather indistinct trail makes its way from the center left on the bottom towards the center right near the middle on a forest floor covered with fallen brown leaves, this is a single age strand so there aren't a lot of understory plants or small trees rather a large number of stems in the near view but you can see some foliage further away

Current status

A wide, blue body of water stretches into the distance, framed by rocky outcroppings in the foreground. The rocks are grey and textured, with patches of green moss and lichen. Well, shit. Guess I picked a bad day to re-case my PC and upgrade the GPU. Everything went well until I tried to update the OS, which failed while tossing a Mesa dependency error. Did some checking, and it seems to just be a Mesa issue I can't really do anything about ATM. So I'm stuck in 4K/basic graphics driver mode, with screen tearing a-plenty, till tomorrow? Hopefully? lol.
The new case looks nice at least.

Very funny, #Sun: many of the small groups on the disk have flared in recent days - (1)4298 on the far right in this SDO HMI view jsoc1.stanford.edu/data/hmi/im from today just this morning with an X1.1: facebook.com/photo/?fbid=12603 - but the big ones 4294 (center) and 4296 (left) that had received a lot of media hype and even press releases like dlr.de/de/aktuelles/nachrichte have remained completely quiet during their march over the solar disk which is coming to an end soon.

Favorite landscape and time of year.
(Upper glacial valleys are often so colorful and especially in autumn, when the colors of the many different types of rocks are complemented by those of the tundra vegetation up there... it's a harsh climate/environment, at the same time so peaceful/friendly [if the weather is right] — a feast for the eyes and good for the soul... yet, each time also a bittersweet experience, seeing how fast glaciers are disappearing)

Annual plant sale at #SutroStewards nursery! I picked up a couple of rare San Francisco wallflowers and some little coast buckwheats, both #CaliforniaNatives.
