Add this to the list of reasons the TV licence needs to be abolished. theguardian.com/media/2025/nov

A BBC article and a BBC radio presenter say they won't quote Rutger Bregman calling Trump openly corrupt during the Reith Lecture, a line the BBC had removed (Michael Savage/The Guardian)

I can’t get enough of #rutgerbregman ‘s first #reithlecture . His analysis of the decay of the West seems accurate to me, but what I really love is his optimism for a future built on a moral revolution. His proposition: just imagine what we could achieve if we self organise and work together…

The author, Rutger Bregman, said he had characterized Mr. Trump as the “most openly corrupt president in American history,” a line the BBC removed before the first of four in its annual Reith Lectures was broadcast on Tuesday. <-- go Rutger go !!
