TIL `scrollbar-gutter: stable;`
It reserves space on the screen for the scrollbar so the page doesn't jump on scrollbar appearing / disappearing. I've started using the Transitions API and this CSS property is really clutch with Transitions.
Waiting on Safari to ship support though.

For the love of science Mastodon, fix the color of scroll bars

Screenshot of dark mode column-mode Mastodon, the scrollbar handle is way too low contrast to easily spot. Some of us use mice.
